How can you protect yourself before it's too late?
  • Call the Minnesota Department of Commerce at 800-657-3978 or 612-296-6319 to check if your builder is licensed.
  • Check with the Builders Association of Minnesota at 612-646-7959 or the City of Minnetonka at 939-8275.
  • If your builder says they are "exempt", ask for the certification of exemption. If they are really in the home building profession - they won't be exempt!
