North Oaks is known for its connection to nature, and the town's newest neighborhood continues this tradition. The area known as Rapp Farm is located at North Oak's northern edge. It lies between Ramsey County Highway J on the north, a White Bear Township open space to the west and the North Oaks 660-acre Conservation Area to the south. The North Oaks Company granted the Minnesota Land Trust a conservation easement over this land in December of 1999, legally guaranteeing that the land will remain undeveloped in perpetuity. The open space area is available for the benefit of all the residents of North Oaks with this tremendous natural environment. Home to deer, fox, eagles, and boundless other wildlife, the Conservation Area is accessible by a system of trails designed for hiking, running, biking and skiing in the winter.
