A Gated Community with Old World Peace of MindSt. Andrews Village#22 TJB Homes A luxurious touch of the Old World has arrived in Blaine - and an exclusive one, at that. Debuting this fall is St. Andrews Village, Ironwood Development's newest neighborhood in Blaine that has become only the second gated community now open in Minnesota, and the first in the northern Twin Cities. Close to shopping and entertainment, a short drive from a championship golf course and adjacent to parkland, St. Andrews Village is in an ideal location. And with the added security of a gated entry, it's a place where owning a home comes with peace of mind. Most Twin Citians are familiar with North Oaks, a north metro suburb that was Minnesota's original first gated community (though it's gated no longer). While St. Andrews was born of the same basic concept, it will be a bit different in practice, says Project Manager Jason Budzynski; instead of a guard, the St. Andrews gate will be fully automated - and high tech. Homeowners will enter with a key code or keycard, and will be able to let their guests enter via transmitters. "Basically, it's really similar to how the new high-tech apartments are working," Budzynski says. St. Andrews has found it's niche through its distinctiveness, he adds. The 32-acre association-maintained development, with 60 home sites, is designed for empty nesters who are looking to downsize without sacrificing high-quality amenities. Ramblers of about 4,000 square feet will bring an Old World flavor to St. Andrews, with stone fronts, round turrets and copper accents. Built exclusively by TJB Homes, these homes will be priced between $500,000 and $1 million. "We're taking this back to the look of old mansion-looking buildings," Budzynski says. And the community is just the right size, he adds: "It's not too big, where it becomes overwhelming. You're going to get to know your neighbors." Assisting with establishing community connections will be the St. Andrews Park. Here, residents will have access to a large gathering area with adjacent facilities. There's plenty of outdoor recreation with the park and a spacious in-ground pool. St. Andrews shares a name with the famous golf course in Scotland. Fittingly, the neighborhood's recreation area also offers a putting green. Nearby, a beautiful waterfall soothes those who wish to focus on their putting. The green is bordered by a pond and is accessed by a replica of the St. Andrews Links Swilken Bridge, perhaps best known at the bridge from which Arnold Palmer waved farewell before stepping into retirement. Homeowners may put their putting into play at the Tournament Players Club Twin Cities, just two miles west of St. Andrews Village. The neighborhood borders wetlands and Lochness Park, with a lake that serves as a fish-breeding pond. Expect great crappie and northern pike action: "There's fantastic fishing for the grandkids," Budzynski says. St. Andrews Village is less than five miles from shopping, and only a mile north of the proposed Minnesota Vikings football stadium complex. "We dropped (St. Andrews) in a perfect location for a gated community...you couldn't ask for a better place," Budzynski says. "The lots are going fast." ©Midwest Homes |
